SamOS Turns One
SamOS Industrial Execution turned one this week. Those starting their own new venture know this is no small feat.
The year brought a book, a growing list of clients and partners, and an already-busy 2027, with Mobius Connect in February and MAINSTREAM in Perth in March.
The work itself was the most rewarding I have done in well over a decade. It is my firm belief that the consultants worth paying for came out of your industry or one like it, and that they became consultants because they wanted a chance to make things better. They walked in expecting the bar to be very high and found low standards, bad products, and poor outcomes instead. Big consulting is overpriced and underdelivered, to put it mildly.
This year the clients who hired SamOS got the practitioner they talked to, at a fee a plant manager can approve, doing work that is real, not conference room talk. The had all been through consulting theater before we met, and the first job was getting past it and into execution.
There has never been a better time for the best consultants to part ways with the majors, or for operating companies to go direct to the expertise. Being on that side of it, with clients who took a chance on a company that was weeks old, made the year. Thank you to everyone that made this possible – from the ones that showed me what not to do to the ones who showed the right way – and especially the ones that were serious about making their organizations better!
There is much more to come (before I disappear blissfully into the woods)!
